What kind of business is PenManifest?
PenManifest is an online retail seller of products created by independent craftspeople and artisans and consigned to PenManifest for sale.
Does PenManifest have a physical location?
Our business and storage facilities are located in Lethbridge Alberta, Canada. However we do not have a brick and mortar location open to the public.
What kind of products does PenManifest sell?
Quality made art and craft items from independent creators. There are however some restrictions on the nature of what we are willing to deal in. See our Policies and Guidelines to determine if a specific product is suitable.
Questions for Buyers
How are prices set and are prices negotiable?
Prices are set by the creators based on materials, labour, competition and quality. PenManifest will not alter prices without written consent from the creator.
Will you ship outside of Canada?
Yes, however additional shipping costs may be incurred.
Can I return product?
Do to the nature of our business PenManifest will not accept returns on original product. However we will facilitate communications with the creator when deemed appropriate.
Do the artists get make money when I purchase their work?
Absolutely! Though PenManifest is a business and does retain a commission at point of sale, most of the proceeds go directly to the artist.
Questions for Artists
Do I get to keep my product?
For the duration of consignment PenManifest does require to maintain physical possession to ensure condition and availability for sale, ownership of work remains that of the creator. Review the Consignment Agreement for details.
Do you need to be a professional artist to sell through Pen Manifest?
You already are. The only difference between a professional artist and an amateur is that a professional sells their work.
How do I showcase my work on PenManifest?
Simply contact PenManifest online of at penmanifest@gmail.com. We will discuss your creations and review your work. Once eligibility is confirmed, we will help arrange consignment and transfer of property. We take care of the rest.
How do I get paid for my art?
Once your work is bought and paid for, PenManifest will ship the product, remove it from the gallery, notify you of the sale and transfer your earnings within 30 days.
How long will you keep my work?
There is no time limit for any listing unless predetermined at consignment. However, there may be instances where modifications are prudent for long term “cold” items. See the Policies and Guidelines for more detail.
Is my product insured?
As per the Consignment Agreement there is currently no offered insurance program in place for consigned items and the risk is borne by the consignor. This is subject to change in the future.
What percentage do I have to pay to PenManifest?
The standard sellers fee to PenManifest is 30% of proceeds unless otherwise indicated in the Consignment Agreement.
What is the difference between PenManifest and other sites?
The primary difference between PenManifest and other online gallerias is that PenManifest provides the service of uploading, cataloguing, inventorying, selling, transacting and shipping your product for you; whereas other online services merely provide a website for your to upload and host your work. They give you the space, but you do all of the work... for a price.
